Alesdair, now a director, was one of the founding partners of Usmani King. With over thirty years of post qualification experience he now concentrates upon heavy weight crime and private motoring instructions.
Having been called to the Bar in 1991 he moved to the Crown prosecution Service for four years and then went to Pictons Solicitors where he practised as a solicitor until leaving to set up Usmani king with Furrukh.
He is a Higher Courts advocate and divides his time between heavy weight crime and private client work. His recent cases include a number of murders and an eight million pound tax fraud where he was led, class A drug conspiracy where he was leading counsel, rapes, S18s, fraud and historic abuse allergtions. He appears regularly at the Court of Appeal
His private client motoring practice has spread by word of mouth and he covers a wide geographical area on behalf of clients whose driving licences are essential to them. He has also developed something of a niche practice in the area of taxi and driver licensing.

Jas Toor qualified in 2001 after studying at the renowned Nottingham Law School and completing her training at the large regional firm Smith Dawson Solicitors. She has been a dedicated criminal practitioner ever since and a Director at Usmani King since 2011. Jas is a Higher Rights Advocate and has built a large following of her own clients in Milton Keynes and North Buckinghamshire managing the Milton Keynes Team.
Jas has a diverse practice and has had notable success in dealing with high profile cases including gang murders, grooming cases and sexual allegations against persons in trusted positions. Jas is very passionate in ensuring that the law is accessible to all and in particular the vulnerable in society. She has a great deal of experience in dealing with the mentally ill and specifically those suffering with autism.
Jas’s practice has extended to defending those in the Armed Forces and in particular the Royal Air Force. This has led her to travel to Europe on many occasions to represent those arrested and has involved some very serious allegations from rapes to assaults, frauds to very high security breaches. Jas has also prosecuted for the Post Office and the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills.
Wasif Ahmed joined Usmani King in 2015 and is a police station accredited representative and also a qualified Court duty solicitor. Having completed his degree at the University of Westminster he continued to JD Spicer to complete his training contract, where he also dealt with personal injury and immigration cases.
Since joining Usmani King he has proved to be a most valuable asset to the team especially in the police station department where he has dealt with all sorts of offences from Murders through to terrorism and Conspiracies through to burglaries. He passionately believes that each individual regardless of their circumstances is entitled to bold and unrivalled representation at the police station where cases can be won or lost. Wasif also assists in the Magistrates Court dealing with a variety of matters.
Simon Brown qualified as a solicitor in 1982 having completed his legal education at the College of Law in Guildford and training with an established firm of solicitors with many branch offices in Bedfordshire. He subsequently became a partner in in 1986 and built a thriving practice. He joined Usmani King in 2019 and has continued to provide the high level of service his clients have come to expect.
Throughout his career he has continually practiced criminal law both as an advocate in the magistrate’s court and as a litigator in the higher courts. In addition to defence work he has over many years conducted prosecutions for various agencies and which included a number of high- profile cases.
Simon has also been an accredited duty solicitor since the scheme was introduced in 1986 and an accredited member of the criminal litigation scheme since inception in 2001.
Jane qualified in 2001 and has specialised in criminal defence work since that time. She successfully undertook all her duty solicitor qualifications and is a Duty Solicitor for the practice. She is a keen Magistrates court advocate and has the fight to ensure that justice is done in all cases that she deals with.
Claire Crozier joined our team in April 2019. She is an accredited Duty Criminal Law solicitor with over 15 years experience. She is a specialist criminal lawyer and handles both general and serious complex crime such as murder, drugs offences, sexual assault and fraud.
Claire regularly appears at the Magistrates’ Court and police stations, representing the interests of clients requiring specialist advice, with dedication and a strong motivation to obtain the best possible outcome.
